It wont be a nose-diver. I love the look of wood/steel. The walnut stock is my favorite. I have a springfield M1A loaded ie match barrel, sights and trigger. I really like the m-1 platform. It fits me better than the AR-15 platform. My M1A/M-14 is a great rifle IMHO. I have not tried the NM model.
